Who do you work with?

I work with teenagers and adults with a specialized focus on supporting adolescents and the parents/caregivers raising them.

2

Do you offer in person counselling?

My practice is entirely virtual. No drive to and from an appointment, no waiting room. Support from wherever feels most comfortable to you.

3

Are you covered by insurance?

In most cases, yes. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, my services are covered by most extended health plans in BC. I recommend confirming with your specific provider to confirm. After each session, I will charge your card and email you a receipt to submit for reimbursement.

4

What is your rate and how long is a session?

A session is 60 minutes and costs $140. Payment is by credit card, collected at the end of our time together. A credit card is required to book online.

5

Are you currently taking new clients?

Yes, I am currently taking new clients. You can book directly through my website, or reach out with any questions first.

6

What approach do you use?

I follow your lead. My approach is person-centred and strengths based, which in practice means we build on what is already working for you rather than focusing on what feels hard right now. You will find a space that is supportive and non judgmental, shaped around what actually fits your life.

7

What can I expect in my first session?

We will start by reviewing the limits of confidentiality together, so you know what to expect. Then we will talk about what has brought you to therapy at this point in time, as well as what brings you joy and how I can best support you. I am here to listen and to ask questions. You are the expert in your own life and my job is to help mirror this back to you. ou will also likely meet my sweet tabby cat Totopo, who cannot resist making an appearance once he knows a session is underway. He is a calm and quiet presence and will not distract from our time together.

8

How long do people typically work with you?

This is a personal decision and I encourage you to trust yourself in choosing what feels right for you. To start, I often see people weekly or biweekly. Over time, this can shift to sessions spaced further apart as things move into more of a maintenance rhythm. There is no pressure from me around how long you stay or how often we meet and you are always the one who decides that pace through booking online.

9

How do I know if I need counselling?

Counselling can benefit anyone and everyone. Maybe something specific brought you here, or maybe it is more of a general sense that things feel harder than they should, whether that shows up as stress, low mood, feeling stuck, or tension in a relationship. You do not need to have it all figured out before we start, that is part of the work we do together.
