My Practice

Mary Mackenzie RCC Virtual Teen Counselling ADHD.jpg

My virtual counselling practice is rooted in warmth, compassion and a deep belief in the strength and wisdom of the people I work with. While I welcome individuals of all ages and backgrounds, I primarily support children, adolescents, young adults and their parents and caregivers. I’m continually inspired by the resilience, curiosity and capacity for growth that people bring to this work.

With a calm, validating presence, I aim to create a steady and grounded space that supports co-regulation, helping to soothe the nervous system and foster a sense of safety. My approach is flexible and person-centered, shaped by a range of evidence-based modalities suited to what each person needs.

I care deeply about supporting people through experiences of loss, including the kinds of loss that aren’t always recognized or understood by others. My own life experiences have shown me that in these moments, it’s often not advice or answers we need, but the quiet presence of someone who can sit with us in it.

No matter what you are navigating, I am here to meet you where you are at. I work from a trauma-informed and social justice lens, with an ongoing commitment to reflection and learning. I feel honoured to do this work and to walk alongside people as they find their way forward.

I am grateful to live, work, and play on the traditional territory of the Sinixt, the Syilx and the Ktunaxa peoples.
I acknowledge the enduring relationship these Nations have with the land, waters and skies of this region.
I carry a responsibility to engage in ongoing learning, reflection and action in
support of truth, reconciliation and decolonization.
